My name is Jayden Marriott and I am a contemporary artist working in Lake Macquarie, Australia. Over the past 4 years, my practice has grown and expanded from my spare bedroom studio to collectors homes across Australia, New Zealand and Canada, and also onto gallery walls in 2026.

My work fades in and out of reality. The quiet parts of the natural world are a major source of inspiration. Those moments stay with me for a long time until they find their way to the canvas. These atmospheric moments cannot be captured in a way our eyes recognise, but in a way our soul recalls it best. Big cities make me feel alive and remind me its ok to feel so small in such a big world, and that feeling fuels me to create, but my visual work always hints back to natural landscapes.

Most of my creative work consists of oil paintings on canvas, which helps me create beautiful arrays of colour and texture. My creative work also spans away from the visual world and to the musical one, as I am continuously composing a soundtrack to my life and paintings, while simultaneously unaware of any music theory.

I want to create ineffable, ethereal moments from the calm and almost melancholic times and places of the day, drawing a larger focus toward the energy and emotion these places carry. I welcome you to observe and to feel the scale between works, as they range from grand emotions to more intimate ones, regardless of size. Everybody walks through these works at a different pace, losing themselves to the ones that speak directly to their souls.
